Three wishes . . . . . .

When I was younger, I used to wish and wish and wish for hair as long as my Barbie's hair.  Oh, if I had hair as long as Barbie's I could have long billowing curls or a really long pony tail or a number of other styles that I just KNEW I would look so gorgeous wearing.  Oh how I wish.

Then my older brother said to me one day, "If your hair was as long as your Barbie doll's hair, your hair would be like three inches long."

When the room stopping spinning around me following that revelation from the dream killing jerk my brother, I realized I should just leave the whole Barbie hair wish alone.

As of late, I've been evaluating where I am in life right now and thinking of where I want to be.   I love making lists and plan on writing down my five year plan in the coming weeks.  I know the saying, anything worth having is worth waiting for and I plan on eventually acquiring these things over the next five years, but if I had three wishes . . .

I wish I could have a piano.

I used to play the piano when I was younger, right up until I left home for my Junior year of college.  Playing the piano was such a relaxing, therapeutic escape for me.  I would close my eyes and run my fingers across the keys.  I was no Beethoven, but I was pretty good.  So the question might be, why not just get a piano?  Not so easy.  I have no where in my townhouse to put it.  So, that leads me to my second wish.

I wish we had a brand new single family home.

First of all, it would be a great place to put my piano.  Then they would be all the wonderful space that would come with it.  I would have a real kitchen to cook in and a new space to decorate.  It would be cool to have nifty stuff like double vanity sinks and a jacuzzi tub.  It would give us great space to raise our future family (and our current menagerie - two dogs, cat and snake).  So lastly . . .

I wish my husband and I could sail off into the sunset.

I was telling a friend of mine today that for my 35th birthday, I would love to organize a group cruise with my friends and their husbands/significant others.  My husband does not fly; absolutely refuses to get on an airplane, but he's completely open to the idea of a cruise.  But I would love it if we could get away right now for at least a 7-day cruise.

So those are my three wishes.  What would your three wishes be?

  1. That's a hard one. I think first I'd wish that the economy would turn around so that we could work and actually make money again. I'm so tired of worrying about being able to make my houe payment these days.

Then I think that I'd wish that I'd be more comfortable on my motorcycle so that my husband's not always worrying about me.

And the last one would be that, hmmmm, I guess that my yorkie would get potty trained already!

    I love your wishes!

  3. My husband hates to fly too!!! It drives me craaaaaaazy. Especially considering that we live in the midwest, so flying is pretty much essential to going anywhere even remotely exciting.

  4. The cruise sounds wonderful! I think my three wishes would be first - that all my kids live happy fulfilled lives. 2nd that hubby and I have a little house on a beach in Hawaii - no mortgage. 3rd - well, I can't think of anything else actually. World peace?
Nah. How bout a tummy tuck?

  6. I love your wishes! My hubby hates to cruise, so wherever we go, we fly. Which never bothered me before we had kids, but now it scares me.

Three wishes: to live at the beach, to write a succesful novel, and to go on a month long vacation through all of Italy.

    It's fun to dream :)

  7. Hmmmm...well if you take out all the obvious happiness for children, economy, etc. and just got down to some frivolous wishes for me. I'd like to have some will power so dieting & exercise wouldn't be so very hard. I'd like to own a little condo/beach house/shack even somewhere tropical. And, I guess I'd like for us finally to save enough money to put a pool in our backyard. Have a fab day! Stopped by from SITS.

  8. Hmmm right off top, my three wishes (desires) would be:

    1. To be married (kids eventually)
    2. To go back to school
    3. To successfully run more than one business

Another great post. Has me thinking.

  9. B. Diva - I feel you on the mortgage payments. I bought my townhouse right before the market crashed so my mortgage company is making good money off me and my house is worthless. I hope your yorkie gets house trained soo.

    WW - a cruise sounds great doesn't it . . . I'm ready to go right now

Megan - you are so hilarious. I just read the checklist for traveling with kids in a minivan. Poor Aiden, LOL.

Lori - I love your list . . . I suppose we can throw world peace in there, lol

GM - Yeah, organizing and visualing really helps be get stuff accomplished. I did a inspiration board for my wedding and it really helped me develop the theme

Natalie - I can't wait for you to write that novel. I love reading your blog. I'm sure the novel will be excellent.

Nikki - your condo/beachhouse/shack made me think of the game MASH. (I wonder if anyone knows what I'm talking about) Thanks for stopping by.

SWD - I'm watching your list come true right before my eyes. Can't wait til you can cross them all off the list.

You ladies are the best. Thanks for visiting.
